What Hair Type is this The BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium Best Suitable For?
This hair dryer is best for those with healthy strong hair. The heating element of this blow dryer is made out of Titanium. Titanium gets very hot, so it will reduce the amount of time you spend drying your hair. However, if your hair is dry or damaged from the use of heated styling tools or from bleaching you should not be using a blow dryer made out of Titanium as the heat could cause further damage. Look for a dryer that has a heating element made from Ceramic or Tourmaline, instead.
If you have healthy hair but it is frizzy and you are trying to eliminate the frizz and want a sleek smooth look this would be a perfect hair dryer for you as the Ionic Technology this dryer offers is effective at closing the hair follicle’s cuticle which creates a smooth sleek finished look.
If you have oily flat hair and are looking for volume you would not want to purchase this hair dryer as the Ionic Technology will not provide you any.
Best Suitable For
Healthy, Strong, Thick Hair that is Wavy/Frizzy
Not Suitable for
Dry Damaged Color Treated Bleached Hair
Healthy Hair and You Are Looking to Add Volume
How Much Wattage Does This Dryer Have? 2000 Watts
The Wattage on this one is 2000 Watts which is excellent. The Higher the watts the more wind power you get which will cut down your drying time without exposing your hair to heat longer than necessary. The high wattage is especially beneficial for those with lots of hair. If you have short or fine hair you can get away with a lower wattage as you do not need that much wind power to dry your hair.
What is the Heating Material/Technology? Titanium Ionic
The Titanium heating element contains a Nano surface. (What does “Nano surface” actually mean? Is there some sort of coating somewhere on the dryer? Where on the dryer? Does it wear down over time?) The Nano surface produces negative ions. The negative ions break up the water molecules to help speed up drying time as well as they close the cuticles to produce smoother, sleeker results.
Titanium metal does a great job of distributing heat evenly. Heating elements made with Titanium do get much hotter then Ceramic, Porcelain, Tourmaline. So, this is great for drying time as it takes less as time as it gets much hotter but for the people with dry damaged hair stay away from dryers made with Titanium as the higher temperature in heat can damage your hair even more if you are not careful.
Does it Have a Cool Shot Button? YES
The cool shot button, which helps seal the cuticle, setting your hair style to ensure a long-lasting hairstyle and adding shine, is a press and hold. You need to hold it down to engage the Cool Shot Button rather than having to press to engage and press to turn off.
Some hairdressers prefer the Cool Shot Button that is a press and hold, because a key element to ensure a good blow out is being able to change the temperature quickly. When styling their clients hair with a button that needs to be disengaged they would be chatting away and forget that the Cool Shot Button was on. So, having to hold down the button to engage the Cool Shot ensures that you don’t forget it is on.
If you don’t like having to hold down the Cool Shot Button, something to make note of is that this blow dryer does have 3 temperature settings so if you want a cool temp airflow without having to hold down the Cool Shot Button you can switch the temperature setting to cool.
Does it Have Attachments? YES
This blow dryer comes with a Concentrator Nozzle. This is a necessity when styling your hair with your dryer. It controls the direction of the airflow. It creates a smooth sleek style. As well it keeps that heating elements further away from your hair reducing the risk of damaging your hair.
If you want a messy frizzy look then you would not want to use the concentrator as the concentrator when pointing down the hair shaft closes your hair cuticle creating a flat surface. By not using the concentrator you’re blowing your hair all different direction, the airflow is no longer concentrated and some of the hair cuticle will be pushed up the strand causing a frizzy look.
Babyliss also sells separately a Universal Finger Diffuser attachment for those of you with Curly Hair. The diffuser helps minimize frizz that comes with curly hair as well as it gives a boost to your curls that may get weighed down by the length of your hair.
What are the Heat and Speed Settings? 6 Heat/Speed Settings
This dryer has 6 Heat/Speed Settings. High, Medium, and Low for Speed and Hot, Warm, and Cool for Heat. This versatility is important especially if you have multiple people in your home using it and they may all have different hair types. A person with Dry Damaged Hair should never use Hot/High Speed as that can cause further damage. Young Children have sensitive scalps, so you should only use cool to warm settings when drying their hair. Also, no matter what type of hair you have once your hair is 75% dry you should switch to a lower heat and speed setting to minimize damage. You set speed and heat individually so you can have low speed but hot air.
What is the Weight? 1.8 Pounds - Light Weight
If you blow dry your hair frequently the weight of your dryer might be something you would want to consider. This hair dryer is lightweight coming under 2lbs. What make this dryer lightweight is that the heating element in this is made from Titanium, which is 40% lighter in weight then other heating element materials such as ceramic, porcelain and tourmaline.
How long is the Cord? 8’ 8”
Hair dryers cord lengths vary between 6 ft and 9 Ft. The length of the cord may be a buying factor depending on where the plugin is located compared to where you actually stand to dry your hair. This cord being 8’ 8” is on the long side. This is great for those who dry their hair in multiple location and you never know the distance between the plug in and where you will need to stand to dry your hair. On the other hand, if you always blow dry in the same spot and your plug in is right next to the mirror you may find this cord too long as this cord is not retractable and it may get in your way.

What are the Customers Saying About This Dryer?
Overall the consumer ratings on the BaByliss Pro Nano Titanium BABNT5548 have been very high and a majority of people have loved this dryer. Drying time was cut in half. No more frizz, which eliminated the need of a flat iron. Durability, lasting years, whereas cheaper models of hair dryers were lasting less than a year. The consumers who rated this low often refer to a diffuser which makes me tend to believe they are not rating the correct product as this does not come with a diffuser only a concentrator. A diffuser and concentrator are completely two different things. Some consumers commented as it damaged their hair as it gets too hot. As I mentioned above, the heating element is made from Titanium which does get hotter than ceramic, porcelain and tourmaline so if you already have dry, damaged hair and you use this hair dryer you will be disappointed
